Academic Major Preferences
Applicants to MSU and to MSU Dubai, express an initial major preference. This enables your academic advisor to assist you in planning your academic courses. Expressing a preference for a major is not the same as being admitted to that major. Each major has its own curricular requirements that are generally fulfilled during the student’s first and second years. Admission to the major is generally done when a student has earned 56 total credits. At that time the student becomes a part of the college related to his or her major.
Academic Major Preference Changes
Students wishing to change the preferences they have indicated for an academic major offered in Dubai, prior to the start of the academic year, should contact the Office of Admissions (admis@msu.edu) to request that such a change be made to their file.
Canceling Your Admission
You have been selected for admission to MSU Dubai because your credentials lead us to believe that you will be successful in this competitive academic program. We look forward to your participation in MSU Dubai. However, if your plans change and you decide you are not going to attend MSU, please visit www.admissions.msu.edu/cancel_admission.asp to cancel your admission and make space for another deserving student.
Deferring your Admission
If your circumstances require that you defer enrollment, you must obtain approval from the Office of Admissions (admis@msu.edu).
