Mark Anstey, Ph.D.

Dr. Mark Anstey has an association with Michigan State University extending back to 1988. He is an Emeritus Professor of Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and has taught in several South African Universities. An active labor and community mediator for over 25 years, he served on South Africa’s peace structures during the political transition period, and was Director of Monitoring (Eastern Cape) for the Independent Electoral Commission in the country’s historic 1994 elections. In the post election period he served on Ministerial task groups for transformation of the police service. He has conducted training for many large companies and trade unions, and for South Africa’s Commission on Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, and has facilitated several large scale organizational change and relationship building processes. He is the author of five books and numerous publications in journals of labor relations, negotiation and conflict resolution, sociology and social work – his book Managing Change, Negotiating Conflict is now in its third edition. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Processes of International Negotiation Program of the Vienna based International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. He has given addresses, trained and consulted across a wide spread of African and European countries, as well as the USA.

James Dulebohn, Ph.D., is an associate professor of human resource management and organizational behavior at Michigan State University in the School of Labor and Industrial Relations. He earned his Ph.D. and masters degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Dulebohn also has held faculty appointments at University of Illinois, University of Texas, Georgia State University, and University of Georgia. His research interests include leadership, decision-making, change management, compensation and benefits, performance management, and social influence in organizations. His articles have appeared in journals including Academy of Management Journal, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Research in Higher Education and others.
