It is with great pleasure that I greet prospective students, parents, colleagues, and new friends on behalf of Michigan State University Dubai (MSU Dubai). Michigan State University has committed to establishing a strong academic presence in Dubai International Academic City. We have built programs that reflect our historic institutional values of quality, inclusiveness, and connectivity to people and communities.

The programs offered in Dubai are of the same high quality as those on our main campus in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The degrees and diplomas awarded in Dubai are also exactly the same. All of the academic standards of Michigan State University apply in both locations. Classes offered in Dubai will be taught by MSU faculty members and other qualified experts who are excellent scholars and professionals committed to and experienced in teaching, research, and academic service. 

MSU Dubai will provide students with a broad intellectual foundation that stimulates rigorous thought, critical inquiry, and career-development knowledge and skills. Our programs in Dubai are designed with careful consultation from business and academic leaders in the region and incorporate skills and perspectives essential for success. We will promote progressive and competitive higher education programs to support regional students and Dubai’s internationally distinguished knowledge economy. Scholars will extend their knowledge and expertise to local, national, and regional constituencies and communities. 

While MSU Dubai offers the same quality of education as the main campus, MSU Dubai faculty members recognize the need to meet the unique needs of students in the region. Michigan State's Dubai Instructional Site will honor and blend the rich, multiple cultures that are Dubai, while providing the classroom experiences of a major, world-class research university: distinguished faculty, a high degree of interaction in the classroom, and grading that reflects a variety of assessments throughout the semester.

We will open in late August 2008. Our state-of-the-art classroom building is well on the way to completion, course schedules have been determined, students are applying, and a number of MSU faculty have been identified to teach in our new location. We look forward to welcoming a wide array of students and professionals to MSU Dubai.
